When I began to think about writing the Gemini soul blog Joan Rivers’ famous catchphrase “Can we talk?” came to mind. She was a Gemini. Her phrase relates to the Gemini zodiac sign and to the essence of who she was. She was a comedian whose livelihood involved talking to people and sharing her experiences. I read that this phrase evolved from her desire to be honest with people. It was her segue for beginning to get real with others about something she was sharing.
In this blog, I will talk about Gemini qualities, gemstones that resonate with them, and the jewelry I have created for them in my zodiac collection. The Gemini symbol is the twins which is represented by the Roman numeral II.
Planet Mercury Governs Gemini
Gemini is ruled by the planet mercury which governs communication. There are many forms communication may take. Talking (as mentioned with the Joan Rivers example) is one of the most effective ways of forming connection with others. There is a good chance that a person who has a strong Gemini influence in their natal chart (whether it is their sun sign or not) will have an aptitude for some form of communication. It could be untapped potential that the person is not aware of!
Learning about your natal chart offers deeper self-discovery. If you are interested in having a free chart done, go to www.astro.com.
As with any zodiac sign, no two people with the same sun sign are identical. They may share some (or most) of the following tendencies to varying degrees.
- Element: Air
- Symbol: Twins. It is represented by the Roman numeral II.
- Modality: Mutable
- Loves to learn and keep on top of world affairs.
- Clever and quick witted.
- Able to entertain both a big and small perspective when it comes to life.
- Able to adapt to new situations.
- Open-minded and accepting of diversity.
- Their ability to be relatable and communicate with others is useful for personal and professional environments.
- On a light note. They are a natural, or a quick study of the art of flirting. :) (i.e. Marilyn Monroe was a Gemini)
- Capable of changing their mind and mood quickly. The quick turnaround may seem like an about-face to themselves and others. (The twins symbol represents duality)
- Being alone too much may depress their mood and lead to negative self talk.
- Enjoys having the company of good friends/family at home and on social outings.
- They do well when their mental energy has a release through physical activity. I can relate to this!
- Likes to travel to new places to broaden their horizons.
Gemstones for Gemini
Some gemstones that have a strong resonance with Gemini are agate, aquamarine, citrine, apatite, chrysocolla, serpentine, tiger’s eye, moonstone, peridot, jade, howlite and black onyx. Pearls also resonate strongly with Gemini.
I chose to create two different pieces. The zodiac bracelet is created with the gemstone APATITE. The necklace is created with a FRESHWATER PEARL.
Apatite - It is beneficial for connecting with spiritual guidance and inspiration. It aids communication and self expression on all levels. It enhances communication in group settings. It assists with mental clarity and stimulating creativity.
Freshwater Pearls - They are a symbol of purity, honesty, tranquility, and wisdom. They are said to enhance personal integrity and focus.
Words to Live By
John F. Kennedy was considered one of the best presidential orators of all time. He had the ability to inspire people with not only what he said, but how he delivered his message. He was a Gemini who excelled at communication. (It is not an automatic given that ALL Gemini's are gifted communicators, but I believe that they have a high propensity for it). The following are two of his most famous quotes that resonate strongly today.
"As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest form of appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them."
"Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country."
These quotes are powerful. They are calling people to take responsibility for doing their part (in whatever way they are able) in creating a world that is better for everyone. They are highlighting the importance of not only feeling and expressing gratitude but fusing it with behaviour that leads by example.
The meaning of these quotes is appropriate today with what we all are facing with the worldwide pandemic. We have heard many times the last few months to behave in a safe manner not only for ourselves but for others. We must DO the actions of wearing a mask and social distancing to help flatten the spread of the virus. A compassionate response is crucial now, it is no longer an option. Humanity is being forced to shift from a me to a we orientation.
We are full swing into Gemini season now! Let’s celebrate the ability to speak and live our truths. Let’s remember that we are part of a community of souls on this earth. In the spirit of the symbolism of the twins, let’s recognize that it is possible to have an individual purpose, and a purpose that we share with our fellow human-beings. When we our engaged in our individual and collective purposes at the same time, we are embodying our highest potential and living our best life.
