It is no surprise that during Taurus season we celebrate Earth Day. When I think of Taurus souls, I think of them as having their feet firmly planted on the ground, and connected to Mother Earth.
I have created two pieces in my zodiac collection for Taurus that feature the Taurus symbol, and a gemstone that resonates strongly with this sign. These pieces are a beautiful way to express the Taurus soul. They are unique, and meaningful birthday gifts for yourself, or someone special. I will discuss more about Taurus qualities, gemstones that resonate with them, and the jewelry I have created for them.
The Taurus symbol is the head of the Bull. It represents strength, persistence, and focus. Taureans have a deep inner strength. They often appear as peaceful souls who are slow to anger. If they do get upset, I advise you to get out of their way! You may have a stampeding bull coming at you. :)
Karmic (Esoteric) Astrology
Although I am not a Taurus, it is a sign that I have encountered the most in my personal, and professional life. It occurred to me the other day, this has been no coincidence. My north node is in Taurus in my astrological chart.
Almost ten years ago, I had a karmic astrology session with Karen M. Black. Karmic (Esoteric) astrology has been described as the astrology of the soul. Delving into this area with Karen was a very enlightening, and enriching experience for me. Karen refers to the north node in your birth chart as your soul’s mission. The growth of your soul is encouraged by experiences that are of the essence of whatever zodiac sign your north node is in.
The north and south nodes are connected in your astrological chart, and are always in signs that are directly opposite from each other on the zodiac wheel. (For example, north node in Taurus = south node in Scorpio, or north node in Cancer = south node in Capricorn) The south node refers to familiar paths, patterns, karma, and talents that you have experienced in past lives.
I recommend having a session with Karen to anyone who is interested in exploring their soul’s potential for growth. Find out more about her karmic astrology sessions on her website here.
As with any sign, no two Taureans are the same. Everyone's astrological chart is a complex combination of many variables. Whatever rising sign is in someone’s chart has a lot to do with how they APPEAR on the surface to others. All Taureans will have some of the tendencies I have described below to varying degrees.
- Element: Earth
- Symbol: Head of the bull with horns.
- Modality: Fixed
- Slow and steady. Methodical.
- Comfortable with routine, and organization.
- Thrives on creating stability, and security in their lives.
- Good at planning, and goal setting.
- A strong sense of duty, and ethics.
- A tendency to internalize their feelings.
- Very influenced by their sense of sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch.
- Likes to have control because change undermines their sense of security.
- Hardworking, and loyal to whatever they have committed to.
- Very connected to nature, plants, and animals.
- Enjoys travelling locally, and to distant lands.
Gemstones for Taurus
Gemstones that have a strong resonance with Taurus are sapphire, emerald, lapis lazuli, black spinel, rhodonite, amber, azurite, tiger’s eye, coral, jade, carnelian, kunzite, kyanite, rose quartz, selenite, and quartz crystal.
I chose lapis lazuli as the main gemstone to work with for the Taurus pieces. I outline below the energetic properties of lapis lazuli, and the lapis lazuli pieces that are part of the collection.
Lapis Lazuli - It encourages a journey towards deeper self-knowledge, and self expression. It is believed to assist with balancing, and energizing the throat chakra. Lapis Lazuli assists with releasing stress, and bringing inner peace. In ancient times, it was regarded as a stone of royalty, spirituality, and protection.

Harness Your Inner Strength
Queen Elizabeth II has been a monarch for sixty-eight years. She is the longest reigning Queen in British history. Her life has been dedicated to fulfilling the duty that she was given when she was a young woman. She exemplifies the Taurean ability to devote their mind, body, and soul to something that they have committed to. A quote that stood out for me by Queen Elizabeth II is, “When life seems hard, the courageous do not lie down and accept defeat; instead, they are all the more determined to struggle for a better future.” These are words from her Taurus essence.
Many of the Taurean qualities are very useful for what we all are going through now with the worldwide pandemic. The ability to tap into our inner resilience. The ability to pause, and reflect on what we need to learn in the moment. The ability to plan what we will do next when we are able to move forward. The ability to see the beauty, and the worth of the earth, and all its creatures. We have the opportunity to use this time that we have been given to realize what is important, and what we need to value more in our life, and in the world. Let's hope that what we have faced collectively during this time, the challenges, the sacrifices, and the lessons, have not been in vain.
We have all had to tap into our inner strength during this time which is what the Taurus soul does naturally. We have found comfort in knowing that we will get through this working together. We realize that we are STRONGER TOGETHER. May this be the way forward for a brighter future for the earth, and everyone that lives on it.
